Osaka – World Championship Holding Camp
Japan - I arrived at Birmingham International airport on Tuesday morning for the short flight over to Amsterdam where we were meeting the rest of the British swimming team. From there we all flew straight to Osaka in Japan.
World Championships 2011
The Aquatics World Championships include Swimming, Open Water, Diving, Synchro, Water polo and It runs between the 16th and 31st July. Swimming will start on Sunday 24th and ends on Sunday 31st July.
Britain name World Championships squad

Britain have named their 40-strong squad for next month's Fina World Swimming Championships in Shanghai.
British Swimming national performance director Michael Scott described the team as "one of the most competitive British teams ever assembled". Scott added: "There will be some big challenges ahead this summer - but the squad has real talent and strength and is best placed to overcome these." "It's a healthy mix of experienced performers on the world stage as well as a group of exciting youngsters who will be looking to establish themselves on the team." The squad are set to finalise their preparations at a holding camp in Osaka, Japan before arriving in Shanghai.

Why is Loughborough Swimming so good?
Here are some facts about the recent World Trials event held at the Manchester Aquatics Centre.
41 Loughborough swimmers qualified to swim at the meet. Loughborough swimmers medalled in every discipline i.e. Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, and IM. As well as every distance (except the 800m) ie. 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 1500.
